Hello Bloggers!
Welcome back to my blog.
Today I will be talking to you about Matariki.
Matariki is the name of the star cluster, in the cluster there is also a star called Matariki and 8 other stars. You can see Matariki in New Zealand.
I have read 'The Celebration Of Matariki' and then listed 5 facts that I didn't know about Matariki.
Do you know what Matariki is?
Do you celebrate it?
What kind of things do you know about Matariki?
Enjoy!
Kia ora Mia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great choice of images you used in your Biteable. They really fit with the subject of your biteable. I love that you connect all the dots when thinking through your work. I found your facts to be interesting. It seems that the stars are in the sky for a long time if they start now and go through to autumn.
Because I'm not in a class I haven't done anything to celebrate Matariki this year. I think that New Zealand should have a public holiday to celebrate it and have a big feast with their whānau. Kinda like American's do for Thanksgiving. That would be something special just for our country. What do you think?
Keep up the creating and blogging,
Mrs Spragg
PS You should do the Winter Learning Journey - https://sites.google.com/urumanuka.org.nz/learningjourney/winter
Hi Mrs Spragg. Thanks so much for the kind comment. Yes, having Matariki a public holiday would be something special for our country. I think that it would bring people together and it would also teach people about Māori traditions.
DeleteAnd yes! I will be doing the Winter Learning Journey, just getting the post ready.
Thanks again!
Mia
