Do you have a habit of Sharpening The Saw?

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome to my blog.

Do you have a habit of Sharpening the saw?
Well, not literally...

Sharpening the saw is one of the habits from a book called '7 Habits of highly effective teens'

We looked at how to be a good leader and a good member of a group. The year sixes were at PAL (Physical Activity Leaders) Training and the year 7 and 8's were left with this gigantic classroom.

Overall, the day was really fun, I really liked the games and activities that we did. I really enjoyed learning about the 7 habits, especially the seventh, which was 'Sharpen the saw'. Although, I think I liked it best because our teacher (Ms Rennell) just gave us this really catchy song that's still going around in my head, which is called, you guessed it, Sharpen the saw.

What kind of leadership qualities have you been taught?
Are they different? Or the same?
What do you think makes a good leader?

Enjoy!

It's all about someone who's name starts with a M...

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today I will be talking about 'I AM ME'
I am me is a workbook that we have been working on for the last few weeks, to learn some things about ourselves.

There is a bunch of quizzes that you can complete which I will link in the slide.

Have you done similar tests to these?
If you tried out some of the quizzes, what were your results?
Were you different from my results?

Enjoy!

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back, or to, my blog.

Anyway!
What SRL actually means is 'Self Regulated Learning'

I am going to teach what it means, and what I have been doing for 'SRL'
Have you heard of it before? If so, have you used the term before? Or something similar?

Enjoy!

How many windows in my house? It's not 20, it's not 50, it's 105! o_o

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome to my blog! Or back to, if you may have seen my blog before.

Today I will be talking about windows!

One of the activities that I had to do is to count the windows in my house, then times by two, then double it! (which pretty much means times by two and then do it again, or times by four)

I ran around for about 5 minutes in my house to find all the windows, it was a lot more tiring than I thought it would be!

But! Anyways!

Here is my working out!

How many windows do you have?
What about the ones in your school? Or somewhere else?

Enjoy!

SLJ - Concluding the Journey (It might've already ended -_-)

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

I'm really not sure whether the Summer Learning Journey has ended but I might as well do this post, I might not get any points for it though -_-.

Anyways, if you know what the Summer Learning Journey is, you may skip the next paragraph.

Basically, the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) is a program that runs through the holidays. There are a set of activities that you can complete to earn some points, comments and replies also earn you points too! The person with the most points can earn some prizes!

Today's activity is...

For this activity, please choose your favourite inspirational quote from this website. Create a text graphic using this quote.
On your blog, share your text graphic and underneath it, explain what it means to you.
What is your favorite inspirational quote?
Enjoy!

For me, this quote means to keep on having big dreams and never give up! It's doesn't matter whether you know the factual stuff, if you dream and try things will go well for you!

Okay!

Let's conclude the journey.

For this activity, please reflect on your experience with the Summer Learning Journey programme this year.
On your blog please tell us:
  1. Which activity you enjoyed the most
  2. Which activity you enjoyed the least
  3. Three things that you learned while completing the programme
  4. What changes/improvements you would make to the programme for next year

I think I enjoyed the activity to make a new book cover for my favorite book. It was really fun and I worked really hard on it to create a really cool book cover! Hmm, I'm not sure I have a least favorite activity because I pretty much just chose the ones that I wanted to do. I learnt that J.K Rowling is actually a woman. I also learnt what a nanotechnologist does, which is a person that works with these small things called molecules. I also learnt that there are lots of people young and old that have changed the world some way!

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Summer Learning Journey.
Thank you to the Learning Journey group.
Thanks you to everyone who has commented on my blog! I have had some wonderful bloggersations with you all.

Lastly! Thank you to whoever is on the other side of this screen, for reading my blog.
