Once upon a time...

Once upon a time, there was a young girl called Mia who decided to write a blog post :)

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Just this week we have started our work on Traditional Tales.

Today I will be talking to you about Traditional Tales and what goes into one and what you might find.

Enjoy!

Guess my magic number!

Hey Bloggers!

GUESS WHAT!

There's a magic number that I'm thinking about.

BUT!

I can't tell you ;)

I guess you'll just have to figure out this question

80 +1.1 - 100.1 + 8 - 9 x 3 + 40 + 67 +20 - 9 + 1 =

Figured out what it is?
What's my magic number today?

If you figured it out, please comment down below what you thought up!

Well,

Here's the answer!

Maria the Maid has a very different background story...

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today I will be sharing with you my response to Boy In The Striped Pajamas.

This is on the chapters 5 & 6.

If you don't know, the story is about a boy called Bruno. Their family decides to move to a new house out in a deserted place where it seems as though it's only this single house out there. It's called the Out-With. Everyone seems to be settling in nicely, except Bruno, he's frustrated and angry that he moved, he doesn't like this place.

I thought that this was a very important part of the story, chapter 6, especially because it talked about Maria (The Maid) and her side of the story and what Bruno's father did to help her give her shelter, food, water and clothes.

For my response, I decided to do some kind of drawing about what I have learnt more about the characters in the story after reading the 2 chapters.

Is it interesting?
Is there anything I can improve on in terms of information?

Enjoy!

The time traveling MAGIC!

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog!

Today I will be talking to you about...

Where I would go if I could take a trip in Dr Who's Tardis.

For those who don't know, Tardis is the name of a time machine that can travel into the future and the past.

Where would you go?

Enjoy!

Maths is hard... untill you find out about rules!

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog!

Today I will be teaching you about divisibility rules up to 10.

These are rules in maths for dividing numbers by certain numbers, each number up to ten has a particular rule to find out whether the entire number can be divisible by that number.

At first I found it a little bit challenging but once you understand how it works,
it will be really easy to do.

Does this help with your division?

Enjoy!

I didn't know that the Sydney Opera House was this small...

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog!

For the past few days we have been doing some projects on Math Week.
Some of these activities included making structures,
building a playground,
building a bridge,

and making the Sydney Opera House!

No, just joking!
Making the Sydney Opera House wasn't part of the project,

Although we kind-of did...

Anyways,

Me and my friend Mika, did a math structure that didn't move, there was another separate activity if you wanted to make a dynamic (moving) structure, we just stuck to the still one.

What do you think of our city?
do you think it's creative?
have you done something similar?

Well then,
Most of the information is in the drawing!

Soooooo!
ENJOY!

(If it's hard to read the text, it's written down below the drawing)

How did we make it?

We decided that it would be pretty cool
if we made some springs and folded
up pieces of paper, stick it in an
interesting way, and look at it like
buildings. We also made Cubes and
other 3D shapes to use as like decorations
or buildings. After, we scribbled (that was
mostly me) on some color with pens
and look what we made!

Being a photographer! at least trying...

We took quite a few
photos, Mika was pretending
to be one of those professional
photographers, taking photos
from all angles.
The most challenging thing doing
this was making the 3D shapes,

What is it? it's the Sydney Opera House!

In the process
of making our city
we tried to go for an
abstract style, going
for a unique shaped
building. It ended
up kind-of looking
like the Sydney Opera
House! :)
they took a LOOOONG time to
make. I think I had lot's of fun
doing this project
and I am sure that MIka did too.

A picture paints a... what was it?.... how many words?

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog!

Okay, I remember now,

A Picture Paints A Thousand Words

This is the picture which I am meant to make something about.

What can you see?

Hmm, a tree, as a person, a bush, rainbows and skies.

I have created an animation based on this and I want to see whether you get the picture.
I hope this paints a picture!

Enjoy!

Peer inside, see the outside, the inside is the outside

Hi Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today I will be talking to you about The Boy In The Striped Pajamas.

I will be talking about what Bruno and Gretel saw through the window and my response to that in the chapters 3 & 4.

This was an important part of the story because it was different and unexpected, also since they just moved, they wouldn't have any knowledge about it. This is what sparks of something interesting in Bruno's life.

I decided to create a picture, but not on google drawings, but on canva.

Enjoy!

The Overpaid Maid, where have I heard that before?

Hey There Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog and today I will be talking to you about a book called
The Boy In Striped Pajamas.

Our group has been reading the story and making some responses and DLO's about the story
as part of Novel Study.

This is a story about a boy called Bruno that has to suddenly move to a new house.
When he finds something through his window all he can do is find out more about it.

This is Abby and I's response to it about Maria the Maid, a character in the story.

Enjoy!

It's 5 ft wide and 5ft deep, what is it? And where is it from? ;)

Hey Bloggers!
Welcome back to my blog!

It's 5 ft wide and 5 ft deep, it's a hole!

And, it's from the book Holes!

Today I will be showing you a post about the book which I have answered a few questions about it.

Holes is a book about a boy called Stanley Yelnats, who goes to a Camp Green Lake because of stealing something. In the story they author has made it a bit of a switch in between what's happening right now (from Stanley's view) and the past. The author seems to approach the problem very slowly and with just enough information to understand what's going on, but not enough to give you a full understanding, this makes me wonder what is going to happen next? And why it's happening?

Please give me some feedback about my answers and see whether I have given enough information for you to understand what's happening in the story, or to understand the question.

Enjoy!
