SLJ - Concluding the Journey (It might've already ended -_-)

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

I'm really not sure whether the Summer Learning Journey has ended but I might as well do this post, I might not get any points for it though -_-.

Anyways, if you know what the Summer Learning Journey is, you may skip the next paragraph.

Basically, the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) is a program that runs through the holidays. There are a set of activities that you can complete to earn some points, comments and replies also earn you points too! The person with the most points can earn some prizes!

Today's activity is...

For this activity, please choose your favourite inspirational quote from this website. Create a text graphic using this quote.
On your blog, share your text graphic and underneath it, explain what it means to you.
What is your favorite inspirational quote?
Enjoy!

For me, this quote means to keep on having big dreams and never give up! It's doesn't matter whether you know the factual stuff, if you dream and try things will go well for you!

Okay!

Let's conclude the journey.

For this activity, please reflect on your experience with the Summer Learning Journey programme this year.
On your blog please tell us:
  1. Which activity you enjoyed the most
  2. Which activity you enjoyed the least
  3. Three things that you learned while completing the programme
  4. What changes/improvements you would make to the programme for next year

I think I enjoyed the activity to make a new book cover for my favorite book. It was really fun and I worked really hard on it to create a really cool book cover! Hmm, I'm not sure I have a least favorite activity because I pretty much just chose the ones that I wanted to do. I learnt that J.K Rowling is actually a woman. I also learnt what a nanotechnologist does, which is a person that works with these small things called molecules. I also learnt that there are lots of people young and old that have changed the world some way!

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Summer Learning Journey.
Thank you to the Learning Journey group.
Thanks you to everyone who has commented on my blog! I have had some wonderful bloggersations with you all.

Lastly! Thank you to whoever is on the other side of this screen, for reading my blog.

  1. Mōrena Mia!

Congratulations on completing another two activities! It's so great to see that you're continuing to put the time and effort into working on the programme - well done! :) And, just so you know, the Summer Learning Journey doesn't finish until next Friday (January 24th) so you'll definitely receive points for these activities and any others that you post between now and then.

What an awesome text graphic! Did you draw it yourself? I love the colours you've used. Wonderful quote choice as well. I think you've interpreted its meaning very well.

It's great to see that you made it to the final activity! Thank you for sharing your feedback - I love about the activities you enjoyed and what you learnt while doing them. Remember, there's still plenty of time to go back and complete the activities you've missed - the more activities you do, the more points you'll earn! :)

I hope to see more posts from you soon.

    1. Hi Mikey! Its' Mia here. Thanks so much for commenting on my blog! Whew! I am certainly going to be doing some more commenting! I may not do much blogging but comments and replies definitely! Yes, I did draw it myself, I tried to make the image something impossible, so I thought that if someone was floating in the sky, that's pretty impossible right? The sky also kind-of reminds me of dreams too.

      Thanks again!

    2. Hey Mia,

You are more than welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my comment. :)

Definitely! I really like how you thought about how your drawing could relate to the quote. It's very creative. Do you like drawing and art? You seem to be quite good at it.

      Blog ya later! :)

    5. Hi Mikey! Thanks again for replying! Hmm, now that I have come to think of it, I haven't shared many art in general! Especially on paper, I will think about it though. Do you do much art yourself?

  2. Hello Mia,
Me again :), back to comment on another one of your epic posts!
Great job on completing the final activity! You've done a great job throughout this whole journey so you should be very proud of yourself.
You've done another awesome job on creating a beautiful graphic that really captures the eye, what did you use to create it? I really like how you managed to keep it easy to read. I really like the font you chose.

Even though this is your final activity, next time you could include some photos. In this case you could include a photo of Albert Einstein, just be sure to include links to where you got them from. I think images would give something else for the reader to look at.

Great job on this final post Mia, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts over the course of this journey.
Keep up all of the great work you are doing,
    Until next time
    - Nadia :)

    1. Hi Nadia! It's Mia again (Wow, I feel like I'm saying that a lot). Thanks for commenting on my blog! I loved your feedback and ideas to make my blog better. Heh, I used google drawings -_- Again... I think I just find it really easy to use, and I can create any shape!

Yes, I'll think about adding in photos, It's actually probably something that I don't do very often! Especially photos from the internet.

What has been something that you enjoyed while reading/commenting on other students blogs?

      Thanks so much!

    2. Hello Again Mia!
Yes, you have been very good at responding to peoples comments and always have made the most of their feedback!
Google drawings is a great tool to use. Personally, I don't use google drawings much but I can see why its convenient for other students to use, especially the younger ones.

Photos are always something that catches my eye so I think it would really amp up your blog posts more!

I really love commenting on students blogs because once they start to use your feedback, they start to grow. Being an older student, I love seeing the youngsters growing and expanding their knowledge. I love seeing people improve with each blog post. I think that blogging is a great way for students to develop their skills and share it with the world. It's also really cute seeing some of the replies the younger students have!

Have you enjoyed commenting on other students blogs??

      Great Job

    3. Hi Nadia! It's Mia here again. Thanks for replying! I love to comment on other students blogs! I really like looking at how other schools and other students use technology and other programs then I do, I comment and tell them about what me and my school use! The senior class comment on Te Mahuri (year four's) classes blogs, it's really interesting to see what it was like when you first start your own blog! I realized that by looking at their blogs. What kind of age ranges have you commented on?

      Thanks again!

  3. Hey Mia!

It's me again, well done on writing another incredible blog post - they just keep getting better and better! It's awesome to see how you are improving. I hope your holidays are going well!

The visual you've created is beautiful! You're wonderfully artistic, how long did it take you to create this image? I also love the quote you've chosen - very wise, and 100% true - aspiration is more powerful than fact! Great job writing an explanation about the Summer Learning Journey at the top of your post, as well. I'm sure a lot of your viewers appreciate it :)

You're reflection/evaluation on the Summer Learning Journey is very in depth, too! Thank you for participating! It's been an absolute pleasure reading your posts over the past few weeks. Do you plan on doing it again next year?

I personally find that the words I find to be the most inspirational are the lyrics in songs I listen to - music is my happy place :) You seem like a very positive and ambitious person, what are some of your biggest dreams?

Amazing work Mia, your final blog post for the SLJ has been a great one! I hope to see more outstanding work from you in the future - stay positive, keep up the good work, keep working hard and you can do anything you put your mind to :)

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

    1. Hi Natasha! It's Mia here. Thanks so much for commenting on my blog! You are so very kind. It's didn't take me too long, compared to another activity that asked me to make a new book cover. Yes! I hope that I will be able to do it next year since I will be moving onto high school.

Yes! I usually like being positive and I'm pretty light on my feet, I like to dream big and work hard! Some of my big dreams is to be able to figure out where the big bang came from! Someone may figure it out before I do but I still like to discuss it with other people and try to get somewhere. What kind of dreams do you have?

      Thanks so much!

  4. Kia ora Mia!

I could tell from my email inbox that you have been very busy over the summer holidays. There were so many posts from you, Parwin, Alan, Albin and Amelia. I am so pleased to see that you have all engaged with the Summer Learning Journey.

I loved the image and quote by Albert Einstein that you shared. As usual, you produce high quality and thoughtful work. I found your thoughts about the quote interesting to read and I am positive that you will be able to fulfill your dreams and I hope you continue to dream new dreams each year.

Thank you for sharing your reflection on the SLJ too. I can see from the other comments that you have really engaged in the whole process. Ka pai.

Enjoy the last week and a bit of the holidays.

  5. Hello Mia, its me Parwin!

Great to see that you have completed yet another SLJ activity at such a high standard! (As usual!) I honestly don't know what to say apart from WOW! I love the drawing that you have created as it looks awesome and you have also explained the meaning of the quote wisly! I also enjoyed creating the book cover but if I were honest, you probably made the best book cover that I have seen in my life!

This reminds me of when I did these activities and I chose a quote by Imam Ali. I can see why you have chosen that quote as it has a great menaing behind it.

All can say right now is that you did AMAZING! Keep the fantastic work up!

I can see that the drawing shows a girl which I'm guessing is you, floating and is facing towards the sun. What inspired you to make that?

    Awesome work!

Looking forward to your next posts,
    Parwin

      Thanks again!
