SLJ - Summer Song Maker! - Birdsong

Hey Viewers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today is a SLJ post! It's been a while.

If you don't know already, the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) is a set of activities that you can complete over the summer holidays. Earn points by commenting and doing these activities and you might just earn some prizes!

Today's SLJ activity was about making a song on Song Maker. You can find the activity here on the SLJ blog.

I have lot's of experience with music, since I have been playing both the piano and trumpet for over 4 years each. I also love creating songs so this was a breeze for me.

My song is called Birdsong. The upper register is the bird singing, with it's chirps that come in at random positions. My middle area is where I have a constant rhythm of chords that go up and down tones throughout the piece. They show the movement and keep the song flowing. My lower register has a few specks of others sounds that may come out and any moment in the scene!

I have chosen a marimba and wood block, both percussion instruments that are light and portray the feeling of summer well.
At the end, I have added a nice chord to finish off.
Unfortunately, my first piece that I made was so long that I couldn't save it, so I made a shorter version that I was able to save properly.

Do you play instruments?
Would you want to learn an instrument?
I think that music is a universal language, do you agree?

Enjoy!

SLJ - Which face is real?

Hey Viewers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today's blog post is another SLJ post!

If you don't know, the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) is a set of activities you can complete over the Summer Holidays. By completing activities and commenting you gather points! And by gathering points you can win prizes!

Today's activity asked me to look on this website and guess which face is real ten times. Then, I screenshot one of the ones that I answered and added it into a google drawing where I showed how I knew one was fake and the other wasn't. You can find the activity here on the SLJ blog.

I got 8/10 correct.

What do you think this kind of digital technology is used in?
What do you think the future of this will be?

Enjoy!
