SLJ - Which face is real?

Hey Viewers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today's blog post is another SLJ post!

If you don't know, the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) is a set of activities you can complete over the Summer Holidays. By completing activities and commenting you gather points! And by gathering points you can win prizes!

Today's activity asked me to look on this website and guess which face is real ten times. Then, I screenshot one of the ones that I answered and added it into a google drawing where I showed how I knew one was fake and the other wasn't. You can find the activity here on the SLJ blog.

I got 8/10 correct.

What do you think this kind of digital technology is used in?
What do you think the future of this will be?

Enjoy!

  1. Kia ora Mia,

It’s Shannon here from the Summer Learning Journey.

Ka pai on your real or fake challenge. It is often very difficult to decide if a picture is authentic, but you have obviously been paying attention to the CyberSmart lessons you have had to find this activity so easy. You’re absolutely correct, and I’m impressed at the clues you found to work out which one was fake! I never noticed the reflections in the eyes, what a great thing to look for!

Have you had a go at making your own fake images? What are some of the more tricky things you would include in your creation?

Keep up the great blog posts!

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

  2. Hi Mia,

My name is Khush from Hornby High School. Well done on your activity! I love reading your post, because it explains the whole activity and giving an explanation of the Summer Learning Journey to those who may not know what it is. It's so good that you've found many clues to detect which image is fake. Another thing you did well was sharing your score and asking questions to the viewers. I didn't even see the reflection in the eyes, nice job!

Next time, I would recommend you decorating the Google Draw to attract viewers. Apart from that, I really enjoyed your blog post. I hope to see more quality blog posts! Have a nice day!

  4. Hi Mia,
I am also doing the SLJ. I love your post because you have shown everyone what the summer learning journey is about and you even included links which is cool.
I like how you have shown on your blog how you spotted the clues that the image is fake. It might help a little bit if you wrote which image is right and which is wrong.
Good luck to you on the SLJ.

    Hayley:)

    1. Hi Hayley! Nice to see you on my blog. Thanks so much for your comment! You're right, I probably should've added in which was right or wrong, it's a bit hard to see that... Well, I'll go and edit it I guess! Good luck to you as well.

      Thanks again!
      Mia
