SLJ - Through Careful Observation

Hey Bloggers!

Welcome back to my blog.

This is yet another Summer Learning Journey post.
If you already know what th Summer Learning Journey is, you may skip the next paragraph.

The Summer Learning Journey is a program that runs through the Summer holidays. There are a set of activities that you can complete to earn points! Comments on other Summer Learning Journey participants also earn you points. The person with the most points will earn some prizes!

the SLJ site says to...

For this activity, we would like you to select one of the pictures below and to study or observe it closely. What do you see?
On your blog, describe the painting in detail. What do you see when you look at it? Please give us as much detail as you can!

I chose the other one, with birds and mostly black and white.

Which picture would you choose (or did you choose)?
What can you see?

Enjoy!

  2. Kia ora Mia,

Great work on completing another Summer Learning Journey activity - keep up the good work. Don’t forget to comment back to blog commenters as well as on others SLJ blog posts to gain extra points.

What an in depth analysis of what you can see in the painting. I can't say I had looked hard enough at it to recognise that it was mirroring the image on the opposite side however in light/dark so thanks for pointing that out for me. Do you enjoy art or painting yourself?

Until next time, happy blogging :)

    1. Hi Emma! It's Mia here to reply to your comment! Firstly, thanks for commenting on my blog! It's really nice to know that I did a good job. Yes, I really like drawing and I really like oil paints, weirdly though, I've never actually tried it :) I just really like the blur and realisticness that you can make with oil paints.

My uncle is really good at art, I asked him why he was so good and he said, 'A good artist needs to be able to observe a drawing or painting well to be able to do it themselves'.
      Do you like painting/art?

      Thanks again!
      Mia
