SLJ - Which one doesn't belong?! Well... It could be ALL of them...

Hey Viewers!

Welcome back to my blog.

Today's blog is another SLJ post!

Just to make sure everyone's on the same page here. The Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) are some activities that you can complete over the summer holidays. As you complete activities and comment on other SLJ participants, you get points. If you get enough points you can win some cool prizes!

So, today's one is called 'Which one doesn't belong?' You can find the activity on the SLJ blog.

I had some fun trying to think of lot's of reasons and I think I had a pretty good amount.
Also have a go at mine and leave a comment about it! It's on the first page.

What do you think doesn't belong in the one that I made?
Do you agree with my statements?
What kind of other things can you think of?

Enjoy!

  1. Kia ora Mia,

Hmmm, in the image you made, I think it’s the top right one that doesn’t belong. It’s different because it is a solid colour with no other colour in the middle. What do you think it is?

I agree with all the justification you’ve said. None of them seem to really belong which I guess means they all belong.

You’ve done a fantastic job on this post. I like how you’ve used your reasoning to determine why each one is different, and explained it clearly and succinctly. Ka pai!

Was the grouping you made difficult? How did you think of all the shapes you used?

    Happy blogging!

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Hi Shannon. Thanks so much for your feedback! I think that all of them don't belong, I can think of all the reasons!
      - I think that the top right does not belong because it is not solid (like you said).
      - I also think that the top left doesn't belong because it is the only one that uses both a sharp and curved angle.
      - The bottom left doesn't belong because it is the only one that is circular shaped.
      - And the bottom right is the only one that is a solid purple colour!

The grouping wasn't hard. I thought of something really simple so that way people can think of more than one reason. Nice and simple and if you look at them in different ways lot's of things pop out that are different to the other shapes!

      Thanks again!
      Mia

    2. Wow Mia, you're absolutely right, they're all different! That one was tricky! Thank you for explaining it so well and kindly for me!

If you could make another group of objects, what would you include in it?

      Bye for now,
      Shannon (SLJ)
